Chkalov, “chka love” (in Armenian, there is no love).

This is how the people from Lori usually joke when a stranger is first accompanied to the village of Chkalov. In fact, the village is a place of love with its hospitable and hardworking people.

The warming of the days in Chkalov is directly proportional to the population growth.

The first is 82-year-old grandmother Sirush returning from Vanadzor to the village to take care of her garden and roses. And as soon as the school year is over, 14-year-old Suren comes to Chkalov with his brother. Then the people from Chklaov who live in America come and the village is full of life.

Chkalov is never as crowded as during the summer holidays.

The wool spinning season is officially declared open in Chkalov. Hasmik Alaverdyan does not lag behind the traditions of the village.
It has been two years since Volodia Mkhitaryan finally settled in his homeland. He is still putting the house in order and planting a garden again.
The location of the village is suitable for animal husbandry. There is little engagement in farming here.
One of the summer activities of 16-year-old Vladimir is haymaking. For this activity, extra helping hands never disturb.
Susanna cleans mallow. She says it is very healthy and she has her own recipe.
Ani is one of the permanent residents of Chkalov. The process of shaking the mulberry tree is carried out under her direct leadership.

Mary, Suren and Ani feed the chicks that hatched a few minutes ago.
7-year-old Narek is in his grandfather’s right hand both in the garden and in construction.
“This is my ‘dowry suitcase’ and this black one is my husband’s ‘army suitcase.’ That’s how I keep them…,” says 82-year-old grandmother Sirush.
